Fellowship Expectations & Requirements

Eligibility

• Open to undergraduate students across Africa
• Ages 16-28
• Past Fellows are ineligible this time around

Selection

• 30 Fellows will be selected
• Fellows will be placed into 6 interdisciplinary teams (5 per team)

Between July 1st and August 15th

Fellowship Structure (What to Expect)

You will work in a startup-style team across three core roles:

• Builder (Engineering Mindset) - Focus on developing functional prototypes
• Innovator (Product Mindset) - Focus on user needs, design, and product thinking
• Business (Entrepreneurship Mindset) - Focus on business models, strategy, and pitching

Each team combines these roles to build real, impactful solutions.

Commitment

• ✅ Fully available for the 5-week virtual program
• ✅ Recommended 6-8 hours per week availability
• ✅ Active participation in workshops, mentorship sessions, and team meetings

Teamwork & Communication

• ✅ Strong collaboration and communication skills
• ✅ Ability to work in fast-paced, team-based environments
• ✅ Mandatory use of Slack for communication and updates

Resources

• ✅ Access to a personal device
• Laptop required for Builder and Product roles
• Any functional device acceptable for Business role
• ✅ Reliable internet connection (required)
• 📶 Internet support will be provided during the program
• ❗ Devices will NOT be provided
